Great review. I first heard this story in the book 'Samurai William' by Giles Milton and I'm thoroughly enjoying the tv show. Glad so many people are telling Adam's story in a many different ways. As an Englishman I can't imagine the culture shock he would have experienced.

Thanks. I thought I knew what to expect when I visited Japan, and yet there were still moments of culture shock. In Adams' time, the culture of Japan would have been completely alien to him.
