Bookish Journey
One or two months ago, I decided to widen my reading habits. Of course travelling around is the best thing, if you want to get to know new countries, cities and other places. Unfortunately there is a lack of money and time. But there is another way to learn about new stuff: reading. As I'm a big booklover this is an obvious opportunity. So I printed a worldmap and stuck into my weekly planner. There is also a list of all countries in it,so I can tick of the ones that I visited in literature.
As you can see on the pictures, there is a lot white, and although I read a lot of books, most of them are from the US, UK and Germany.
And now it's up tp you: whereever you live, whereever you from: what is your favourite book that takes place in your homecountry? Or who are the most famous authors in your country? My goal is it, to fill my map and get to know the world ;) If you have recommendations for me, please let me know. There's just one condition: there has to be an english edition or a german of course.
Reise mit Büchern
Vor ein paar Monaten habe ich mich dazu entschieden, meine Lesegewohnheiten zu erweitern. Natürlich ist Reisen die beste Möglichkeit, wenn es darum geht, neue Länder, Städte oder andere Gegenden kennen zu lernen. Leider fehlt es mir an dieser Stelle an Zeit und Geld. Aber es gibt eine andere Möglichkeit neue Dinge kennenzulernen: zum Beispiel durchs lesen. Und weil ich eine große Buchliebhaberin bin, ist das eine offensichtliche Option. Also habe ich mir eine Weltkarte ausgedruckt und in meinen Wochenkalender geklebt. Außerdem gab es dort drin schon eine Liste mit allen Ländern der Erde, so dass ich diejenigen, die ich schon literarisch besucht habe abhaken kann.
Wie ihr sehen könnt, ist noch eine Menge weiß da und das obwohl ich viel lese.
Jetzt ist an euch: Wo auch immer ihr lebt oder herkommt, was ist euer Lieblingsbuch, das in eurem Heimatland spielt? Wer sind die bekanntesten Autoren dort? Mein Ziel ist es, die Karte auszufüllen und so die Welt kennenzulernen. Falls ihr also Empfehlungen habt, dann lasst es mich wissen. Nur eine Bedingung müssen sie erfüllen: sie müssen auf deutsch oder englisch zu kriegen sein.

Ich finde das auch eine fantastische Idee! Es könnte glatt passieren, dass ich mir das abgucke ;) Ich hätte da noch einen Buchvorschlag für Mexiko, ich weiß jedoch leider nicht, ob das Buch auf Deutsch erhältlich ist. Es ist von Homero Aridjis und heißt im Original "La leyenda de los soles". Es ist ein eher postapokalyptischer Fantasy-Roman, aber sehr interessant und leider auch recht realistisch (in Bezug auf die realitätsnahen Aspekte, versteht sich).
Zudem hätte ich noch eine Frage an dich. Ich habe nun schon einige Posts zum Thema Formatierung gelesen, doch konnte ich nirgendwo die Info finden, wie man so schön wie du die Texte parallel zueinander schreiben kann. Würdest du mir den Trick verraten?

Great idea, you inspired me to do the same :). Which book did you read from Czech author? And which German book would you recommend to me?
Hey, thank you :) In my map, I trace both: read authors from a country and if a story takes place in a special country. In this case it's the latter. Can you recommend a Czech author? Let me know :)

Nice quote :) there is thruth about it, but not everyone has the chance to travel, due to a lack of money for example. Therefore books can't replace real traveling of course. But it's better than nothing ;)
