Wow, @solarsherpa, great post! I'm new here and just starting to think about bots and why they are here. Your post answered a few of the questions I had been formulating.
My only grievance is the noise and clutter the bits cause in the comments. I DO like to read the comments, and I'd like mine to be read. It can be hard when there's a bunch of spammy looking bot comments in the thread.
With that said, I've upvoted and followed. Thanks, ad good luck collecting all the bot cash!
I know that @minnowbooster has a stealth option. You get an upvote worth less without the comment spam.
I did not know that. But, I'm fine with the comment spam. Do you know how to activate the stealth option?

Also, how did you hyperlink in your comment? I've been wanting to know how to do that and can't figure it out an easy way.
It's the same mark down that you use in your posts. Square brackets for the text followed by round brackets enclosing the URL.

Thanks. What I do is upvote all the people who comment. Then their comments are at the top because the default way is by value. So, have a ride near the top.
