in #boycottnfl7 years ago (edited)

My brother started a petition for boycotting the NFL at Change.org. You can sign the petition if you love patriotism. You can sign it if you dislike disrespect towards the freedoms that USA Americans get.

THE PROBLEM:

The NFL has a problem respecting the United States' National Anthem.

A large proportion of NFL players now kneel in protest during the traditional playing of the U.S. National Anthem.

This problem affects almost all NFL teams. Recent headlines of multiple players taking a knee include the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Browns, NY Giants, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and the Detroit Lions.

THE PROBLEM IS GROWING

On September 24, 2017, the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team hid in the locker room during the National Anthem. This was by the order of coach Mike Tomlin. Only one player, U.S. Army veteran Alejandro Villanueva, defied Tomlin's repugnant demand.

Contrary to popular belief, the issue of kneeling in protest during the National Anthem is not unique to former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick; nor was it really ever specific to him:

As early as September 2016, Kaepernick was joined by teammates and opposing Los Angeles Rams players in kneeling during the Anthem.
Before anyone even noticed Kaepernick kneeling in protest amid the anthem, he wore athletic socks with "pig cop" cartoons to 2016 training camps.

The NFL is a non-profit entity with billions of dollars in annual revenue, overseeing a football league with an overall market value of $46 billion. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell alone makes $31-34 million a year. NFL players earn millions of dollars for playing. All this money is gathered only because of fans like us who continue to watch and buy games and products from our favorite teams.

The heyday of the NFL is no longer. The NFL has become a tax-evasive cartel of spoiled and unpatriotic ideologues. While many fans are, in fact, addicted to the fun that is NFL viewing, this addiction must necessarily end for our voices to be made clear.

WHY THE FANS HAVE A VOICE

Just as the movement which started this repeated desecration of the flag has grown, so too can the movement to move our eyeballs and dollars away from this vile political swamp.

The NFL claims in press releases to support our nation's veterans, but their implicit endorsement of unpatriotic acts smacks in the face of their nominal advocacy.

Kneeling during the National Anthem is a right enjoyed in this country because of our nation's great patriots. This should go without saying. It should also go without saying that spoiled athletes and their employers exercising this right is not something we have to tolerate as fans. Team owners and the broader NFL organization can disallow such acts, and have chosen not to. We can choose not to endorse them.

Hit 'em where it hurts, America: The WALLET!

There are fantastic sporting leagues still across America that do not tolerate these acts. The National Hockey League's Stanley Cup champion team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, recently voiced their support of the institution of respecting the National Anthem. That's a big difference from the Pittsburgh Steeler's team's coach-ordered cowardice in the locker room.

There are also other football leagues that can be enjoyed as alternatives. The Arena Football League, Canadian Football League, NCAA football, and the Legends Football League are just a few. You can even see a list of alternative leagues on Wikipedia.

WE SIGN THIS PETITION

As signatories to this petition, in light of disrespect to a nation which has so enriched their bank accounts, we pledge to boycott the National Football League and its teams in all manners.

This petition calls on Commissioner Goodell and individual teams tp institute new rules around political protests and the National Anthem. Using the National Anthem as a tool of political protest is not an action we support, and we signify that non-support by supporting this call to action and abandoning this wayward League.
This petition will be delivered to:

Sort:

All you people need to get a life. Its a piece of cloth that no longer represents freedom. Its obviously a tool for government and media to create turmoil. Besides im sure most of you are absolute hypocrates with this issue

It is symbolism for something with power and freedom. We have lie. That is why we care. When you get here, you never go back.

Freedom? You realize the usa is 1 step away from socialism right?

Socialism from Soros, Rothschild, Rockefeller, Morgan, Federal Reserve, IRS, FBI, CIA, CFR, FDA, Facebook, centralization, federalization, bigger government, infiltration, corporatism, technocracy, crony capitalism, monopolism, plutocracy, and Soros is from Hitler, and Clinton is of Soros and BLM is of Soros and McMaster and Kelly works for Soros and the New World Order (NWO)....

my husband is a US Airforce Veteran and I asked him if He continue to watch NFL game after seeing those players/athletes kmeeled during the National Anthem and he answered very loud Nope not anymore

Thank him for his service from @thedamus!

Totally misguided and disgusting display of disrespect coming from a bunch of millionaire snowflakes. Good for him!

I wish they realize how bless and lucky they are living in a free country .I still hope they realize how many lives lost protecting the flag /freedom that you all people enjoying everyday.

Thank you @grace44, i am a Canadian, and i respect men and women in uniform everywhere, even if i may disagree with their leaders.

@thedamus i agree with you. and thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

Thank you to your husband for his service to our country. Thanks.

Not to mention boycotting does almost nothing. Your precious gov sponsors them and made them tax exempt for 60 plus years. So again

I disagree. It is already working. We the people can do more.

How do we stop taxes?

Actually I would think kneeling shows more respect than standing, supposedly you should only kneel to God. Now if they turned their back on the flag I guess you could call it disrespect, but take into account that making a big deal out of this makes no sense, I think it is more a public relations stunt for Trump than anything else.

Vote with your dollars. Buy what you want to buy. If you like them, buy a ticket. Watch them play. You can let people know. If a lot of people just so happen to maybe dislike NFL players, they all may procrastinate from buying newer tickets, and that is a choice each person can make.

The problem is that they do these things to promote globalism.
