Post Break

in #brake2 hours ago

Took a little break from posting recently, not sure why.

I've still been checking on scrobble.life stuff and improving some things here and there, but you can probably tell that my green has been turning a bit brighter lately.

Though this mostly just affects scrobble related stuff as the other things are more holozing related which don't necessarily run through github.

Talking about holozing, had to pay some previous workers what we owed them as well which kind of got back to haunt me. Another unpaid issue has remained as someone's lost their crypto exchange and keeps insisting on me sending him usd on paypal, which I do not have, while paypal does have a stablecoin, so not sure why he's unable to figure out how to accept that one which i could provide.

Dunno, generally tired of having holozing almost constantly be in debt, keep spending my own funds towards it and having a high triple digit hours spent on the project that I'll probably never be able to pay myself for the same way others have received payment. A bit depressing to say the least, but we keep marching on slow and steady.

My focus has been scrobble lately and a lot of community members have weighed in with some opinions, especially regarding my latest post talking about community centralization, some have messaged me on chain and some in dms discussing how certain communities have died and it'd be great to bring them back but in a new way; through a website that's not just a front-end but also does more. Which is what I aim with scrobble.life to do.

Now while I don't plan on opting for NFTs initially, it's nice that we have HAF NFTs now (which holozing.com/market) runs on for your alpha items and which only cost ~$8k to create as well as some unpaid fees for doing more with it from our devs I'm happy they're patient with understanding the recent hive prices. I have some plans on potentially trying to bring back a few underrated/underewarded communities, some cause they've died off cause leader went afk/curators went afk (as many have gone afk during these times), and some just cause I feel deserve more recognition and rewards and other benefits/advantages that never got anywhere here. (remember that photo nft project someone started way back and it got nowhere?)

That said, while things won't start as nfts, I do wanna highlight them and bring them on to scrobble.life as well, maybe not in the same community but definitely through the website enable them to be viewed. Art and photography.

Things are just running a bit slower than usual now, even though I'm super happy that the scrobble project is doing well and this should be the time to go all gas and no brakes, I unfortunately have to put some brakes on as I'm feeling more burnt out than usual. Honestly some days I don't even know how I bother turning the pc/phone screen on.

I'm looking forward to my trip here soon and taking some time off, not completely cause voting power keeps on recharging and things have gotta be voted on when most others are gone so you can't rely on many, or at least not many you also trust won't take advantage of things/abuse them, but take some time off in some other regards in terms of developing things, being socially active, taking in reports on bugs/etc, and many other things I do here on a daily basis.

Instead I'll be focusing on taking some photos and maybe getting around to posting about it when I get back. Not like when I went to Japan and posted maybe once about it then left the pics on my ssd for a whole year taking many gigabytes of space cause "I'll share them soon" (same with some pokemon content I wanted to share). Maybe I'll draft those posts so I can have something to post while I'm on my trip for them juicy autovotes! (just kidding, but it does help in times like these when I'm overleveraged way too hard into hive and some of my projects here)

Anyway, kind of an odd update post, the next one will be a bit more scrobble specific on some things I've worked on, thanks for reading!

I'm learning more about Scrobble. I didn't know we could nominate our own posts—it feels a bit odd to do it myself. Thanks for continuing to build tools and projects for the chain, even when it's clearly taking a toll.
Best regards from Havana.

I don't know if can call that burn out but I will also be taking a break from creating things and just focus on gaming for a while. Not sure how long this break will be- a few moths? Till the end of the year? Maybe even longer than that. Anyway I hope that you will get some rest.
