Do you think revenge is the cure to a broken heart?

Story time:

Before writing this answer, I was making tea. And I burnt my fingers after holding super hot tea pot.

Immediately, without wasting any time I put some ice cubes on it and I got instant relief.

But, once the ice melted, I could feel that burning sensation in my fingers again.

Story time over.

This is what happens in a relationship. If you take revenge you will get instant relief, but that is not your permanent solution. You will start feeling that pain again when your revenge is over. And this time you will be filled with guilt.

Revenge is not a cure but a temporary relief.

Now observe this from a different angle.

My fingers are burnt. Pain will be there for 2–3 days.
Scars will be there for a week or two.
I applied an ice cube for 2–3 minutes. Now, can you compare the time difference?

I got relief for 2–3 minutes but I will have to face it for next couple of weeks.

3 minutes versus 2 weeks.

Exactly, that is my point. Your revenge will give you relief for a very short period of time. But the pain of a broken heart will only fade away with ample amount of time you invest in yourself.

Scars will be there. Memories will be there. Cherish those beautiful memories instead of making them haunted after taking revenge.
