Shravanabelagola Mandir is a famous Jain pilgrimage located in Mysore, Karnataka State. The center of highlights in Shravanabelagola is the Gomateshwar pillar. In Jain Tirthankar, Bahubali was the first Tirthankar to get salvation.

Statue of Gomateshwara


It is believed that the Gomteshwar statue located here is more than 1000 years old. It is a stone statue of 58.8 feet high on Indragiri mountain. Jains believe that Bahubali Gomteshwar was the first person to get salvation. Every 12 years devotees gather here for Mahamastakabhishek. This idol is danced with saffron, ghee, milk, curd, gold coins and many other items.
