Have you ever wondered how I made these tiny things and are able to keep the details? My secret is pre baking! Pre baking is simply putting something( a cone, sprinker, cookie, etc) in the oven to cure for a certain amount of time before adding/ finishing the whole look.
I usually do this because I make small items- this ensures that they do not get mooshed around, and, they make life easier while I am crafting.
Also, they make it easier to store and transpo anywhere. I can sell them online to other crafters or, I can just use them for my future crafts.
This is how I make clay sprinklers:
I use a clay extruder to get an equal sized clay.
This is how the clay looks when it gets out of the extruders, I just cut the clay into reasonable sizes, bake then make my sprinklers.
To make the cone, I use my tool to get the detail and a cookie cutter.
This is how the detail looks like.
I roll it up and you'll have something that looks like this. yes. That is my craft light with a magnification.
My cookies are made from the molds and from them, I transfer them to the oven directly. I cannot handle them individually because the cookie detail gets smooshed easily.
So there you have it folks. I do have other pre baked goodies with me here but, these are the latest batch.
Other crafts coming up shortly using my pre baked items.
