This is only reasonable advice if you already spend time in places where you’ll regularly interact with single women.
If all your socializing happens online and you only go out for work and groceries a woman isn’t going to appear on your doorstep.

Focus on yourself includes some kind of Sports usually. Which creates situations to get in contact with Women. Even at groceries you’ll meet them. Or on public Transport. Several possible opportunities.
But even online; my ex reached out to me the first time back then on 9gag. Don’t know if people still know that website. It was a meme about germans and she as an Austrian wanted to Mock some germans. One thing led to another and suddenly we lived together for 5 years.
