There are several reasons why you travel. Some want to see sights and relax while some want to have delicious local food.
Busan can satisfy you in both ways. This exotic city is located in the south east of Korean peninsula. The city's outline meets ocean. People are passionate. Foods are great.

How to go to Busan from Seoul
There are many ways to go to Busan from Seoul. Below are 3 most used way for heading to Busan.
- KTX train: fast(2~hours), expensive($40~50)
- Express Bus: slow(4 hours), cheap($30~40)
- Flight: fastest(1hour), most expensive($50~60)
Premium Express Bus($40)
Here is where you can book the bis ticket. To take the bus, you should go to "Express us Terminal station" lime no.3
I took Express bus because I wanted to save money. It was short trip so I did'nt want to spend a lot.
Actually bus isn't bad at all.
If you take premium class, it will give you private seat where you can nearly lay down while driving, personal TV, usb outlet where you can charge a battery.
So, let's look at what to eat first.
Mil Myeon (meaning wheat noodle)
On arrival, you feel hungry, after 4 hours of long bus riding. My absolute suggestion for this problem is mil myeon, a white wheat noodle with spicy cold soup. Can't imagine? Just try. It is one of the best Busan local foods, developed through Korean war in 1950's. People made it while they were imitating other noodle food(nang myeon) in lack of proper ingredients. Now it has established its own taste and style.
You can find good mil-myeon places near "Busan station", "Busan National University of Education station" or "Seomyeon station". They are all in line 1.
Restaurants such as Gaya Milmyeon, Gaegeum Milmyeon, Guk-Je Milmyeon, amd Cho-Ryang Milmeyon are famous.
Pork Rice Soup
This is another local food. Simple. Rice and pork is in the hot soup. But the secret is the soup. They make soup by boiling many hours with pork bones and many secert ingredients that make the soup tasty and healthy. It is also known as good hangober chaser. I am the witness. It works. Good restaurants are especially packed near Seomyon station. Pohang pork rice soup, and Song-Jeong Samdae are famous.
Raw Fish Slice (Sashimi)

Once you come to Busan, raw fish is one of must-eat-food before you leave. Near Gwangan station, you can walk to the beach and if you walk a little bit more, you can find "Minrak Hoi Center" at the end part of the beach. It is more than 10 story building and the whole building is for raw fish(baam!!). And if you spend $20 for each person, you can enjoy fresh, just-out-of ocean fish there. This is how it works: you choose your fish and bargain price in the 1st floor. Pay it. Then you bring them to upstairs for table and drinks. The table fee shall be charged separately($5 for each person). And you can order Soju, beer or other drinks).
In the next posting, I will introduce things to see in Busan.
