Steemit is growing!!
The recent upsurge in daily activity as well as new people joining daily has helped to expand this platform to new heights and it is thanks to the tireless efforts of people that promote this platform.
With Steemfest drawing closer, a major opportunity is on the horizon that can help bring this platform even higher, but why stop there?
Use your daily connections!
Many people, myself included, will not be able to attend this event for many reasons. Maybe it is too far or too costly?
So what?
Everyday we meet new people and many of them are potential aditions to the Steemit platform. I was surprised when I found a willing joiner behind the till at my local grocery! Do not be afraid to share what you were lucky enough to discover...
How to convince your friends
There are two types of people I have run into that have given me problems. Sceptics and Unmotivated people...
Sceptics are the most difficult to deal with so I will focus on them today. Try as you might, they will insist it is a scam and refuse to even give the platform a try. I usually try these things.
- A scam requires you to lose money!
Keep asking them; What have you got to lose?
- Prove the rewards.
Once you have earned a decent payout, do not be afraid to spend some of it. Showing sceptical people what you have accomplished help. Perhaps even take them for lunch with your earnings. Prove the money exists.
- Don't just dump them in.
At this point, even the sceptics will want to at least open an account. This is where your work starts! Steemit can be overwhelming to new users. Sit with them and take the time to explain things to them. If you are new yourself, feel free to speak to the community. It really is quite awesome!

There are many on Steemit, like @surpassinggoogle and @pappa-pepper that go out of their ways to help the people on this platform and to promote Steemit to the public at large.
