Mostly I was just trying to point out that (at least in my eyes) your reply would be basically unintelligible to someone who wasn't already familiar with Steem. Bid bots? What is that? LOL I thought, given the whole title of your post was "Perspective", it would be good to point out how deeply wrapped up inside Steem so many of us are (certainly not just you!) and give a reminder that when talking to people from outside the ecosystem, it is good to keep that perspective in mind.

And... I kind of have a thing with search engine worm holes. I may say that not understanding things frustrates me, but I also then spend 72hours ingesting everything I can find on the topics... But yea, not everyone's like that. Ha, I'm not even like that sometimes.
Also, I encountered a bidbot like 60 minutes before I saw his comment on it and was like, "Oh yay! Someone who can tell me if this bot is worthwhile!" Hehe. I'm a noob, but thanks to my occasional 72hr digfests, I'm a noob with a lot of dots (...you know... connect the dots, la la la? No? Uh... I have a lot of random information floating around in there, so even though a lot of this is HELLA confusing, a lot of it is also just... connecting previously laid studs into tracks. So yay for me?). I also said a lot ...a lot... in this paragraph, if you can call it a paragraph. IT'S late and I'm loopy leave me alone!
It WOULD be good to have a "Steem for Noobs" wiki that was actually written in layspeak though. I had like 8 'for newbies' tabs open, and several more tabs for cross references. Slowly figuring things out, but yea, every 'aha' generates 4 more questions, and I DO feel like I'm learning some things out of order, but that's okay. I learn best by use anyhow - like, I think I'm getting far more out of this, and am incentivized to keep digging, because I POSTED as SOON as I learned how to onboard.
