I think the only bit of happiness was when they've been freed. It is one of the most sad places on earth.
It is good that the place still exists today, and by that not want to say that it us good what happened on the contrary, it still exists to remind us from the atrocities we did as humans, from Congo to Armenia, from the Americas to China, from Germany to Russia... our history has been doomed to make the same mistakes all over again. With Auschwitz still standing, it shall remind us of all of it.
It is our duty to spread the message to the following generations...
