Hello, steemians. I continue my story about Golos. For those who don't know - Golos it is a fork of Steemit occurred in 2016. It has become a starting point for a separate trip of the Russian-speaking community.

For each of us, social media is important. But this segment has long been divided between major players. Agree that creating a new and large-scale project is a complex and difficult task. This is not the same as opening a crypto cafe around the corner and serving themed drinks and dishes. However, Steemit was managed by well-known names in the crypto industry. Golos could not boast of such founders.

It was not easy to attract the audience and large investors. However, a strong desire to launch their own project and assistance from stakeholders allowed to attract the necessary investment in the amount of 600+ BTC.

Almost at the start was promised to introduce a linear feature rewards. This was one of the main reasons to justify the Steemit fork. After all, in a quadratic function, the Russian-speaking community received insignificant remuneration for posts because of its minority and the lack of sufficient SP.

Has been going days and weeks. Care about the start of Golos was replaced by the first problems with a large investor. Code changes were delayed, and the distribution of tokens strongly influenced the final result of the reward. However, the number of real users was small. At the beginning of the launch, the rewards were turned off and Golos was essentially just a kind of social network in a rather unusual format for most. Small groups of people are easy to meet and organize even in a decentralized world. To some extent, it can be called virtual friendship. After all, the question of money in that time was absolutely in the background.

Cozy Bay for the first crypto enthusiasts. There is no need to understand the economy, there is only live communication and new acquaintances. Excellent soil for the first appearance of"locomotives". You upvote me, I upvoted you. The limit of 40 upvote per day quickly ended. New users have become strangers to this celebration of life. Of course there were those who tried to support the coming again. Some Whales have supported various competitions and social activities. However, in General, the place at the awards pool was divided. What so fled the founders, has suddenly become normal. The Steemit community it meanwhile has realized the problems of quadratic system and passed to linear, which allowed to dramatically increase the number of new users and to equalize rewards.

Periodic criticism of developers and founders, ended with promises in the near hard fork with just incredibly cool features. Various social events and KPIs said that the teams are working. The community believed in and continued to share a pool of rewards in a limited circle of cronies and friends. Not surprisingly, the famous bloggers coming to Golos quickly went back to other platforms. Their posts had not read it, they did not receive awards and new subscribers. Only a serious content support program could help some authors, but the number of their upvote per day was limited. Vicious circle.

Against this background, the idea of creating thematic communities has suddenly skyrocketed. It was actively supported by the founders. Social centralized platform suddenly wanted to turn into a magazine with editors, hired authors, salary, bookkeepers, contracts and loan payments.

You wouldn't believe it, but they practically succeeded. Even today, communities of interest exist and support each other. A closed segment. In continuation, I will talk about the struggle between "honest" and "corrupt" authors.

Communities based on certain topics, I think, give a good support for golos newbies who strive to produce a qualitative and serious content. I was about to quit blockchain social networks when one of communities invited me to write for their blog. So it helped me to promote myself a little bit.
