It's intention was to get people excited about Steem and talking to the outside world.

Is it fair to say then (if this is indeed the intention), then actively trying to sideline the sycophancy and inward looking posts that go on incessantly about the steem ecosystem.

This would would be a good strategy to try and implement? (not upvoting circle jerks that participating in this activity, for a starters).

make the posters go outside of the 'steem comfort zone', through the depletion of upvotes?

I cannot , for the life of me, see how the constant navel gazing about 'how brilliant steem is', (to other steem users), can be - any way - conducive to reaching out and talking to the outside world..

Just a thought.
