My biggest mistake during my first three months of being full time steemian is that, I fed so many steemit Trolls.
I tried my best to show those steemit trolls the right way and l must admit I lost the battle of turning them into a user who adds value rather than a user who just extracts value from the Steem ecosystem.
Certainly I feel that I've influence at least some steemians to be a better steemian and showed them the better way to get rewarded with steemit.
There are so many ways to add value to other steemian's journey, add value to good projects , add value to DApps development and get rewarded for the contribution. But most Trolls are just THICK, I mean they've troll DNA. I'm sorry can't help them anymore. And I'm moving on...
This time I'm very determined , So I made a decision today to change my Display name of my Steemit profile and decide not to upvote or engage with any steemit users who have less than 100 SP
I'm just getting started and there are more to come from me... Are you ready ??? I mean this question is for people who have more than 100SP. So one more time Are you ready ?
I really understand your point here @nathanmars
Most people you engaged with here during your first three month didn't see the opportunity you were offering them. Most of them were just after the upvotes and all the rest. They never planned on having a skin in the game.
I totally agree with you if you've decided not to support them any longer.
I'm glad I have over a 100SP even double, and I'm planning on making it triple soon. haha
I totally understand your frustration @nathanmars
You are doing your best to "educate" some users. Unfortunately, not everyone understands the chance they have been given here. Some just use Steemit for fun, some others just think they are still on Facebook while some others too think that they will solve their financial problems tomorrow morning....As I've said a million times Steemit is like the real world just on a smaller scale...
You can't change the whole world if world doesn't want to change itself...
PS. I don't think I have to mention my SP but it is higher than 100
Have a great day Nathan
You’re absolutely spot on @mindtrap, Steem is like the real world on a smaller scale!
Yes I know you’ve skin in the Steem and also know that you’re big believer in Steem :)
While for me, that would be awesome because I am a bit over 100. I definitely appreciate your support and enjoy your content and will continue to follow and reciprocate.
There is the issue that those below 100SP are the future of this platform. Not all of them obviously as those looking to earn a quick fortune or just take from the system rather than contribute won't be here long. There are thousands of lesser SP folks who are sometimes harder to find and I spend some of my networking/curating/supporting time on the ones I feel have a good future and my effort is not wasted.
You are so much more experienced and advanced than I am but I am wondering if there is a way for you to find and adopt a few less than 100 SP people who will become part of the future?
I am ready!
Thanks and I understand your points.
Definitely not all of them are Trolls and I would argue that there are lots of projects out there to support the good people who has less than 100SP and I’ll focus on building middle class steem citizens for the time being and in the near future I’ll be able to support all regardless of their SP
Happy Steeming my friend:)
Oh for sure. I am not attempting to tell you what to do. You just seem to be one who takes shared perspective and opinion for what it is.
We both care for the block chain and community and you are $95,829.48 ahead of me so your actions are worth a WHOLE lot more than mine. ;)
Happy STEEMing is the only kind.
now i have more than 150 sp, according to your inspiration i regularly trying & give more time than i achieve this.
According to your instruction i also complete my alpha, beta & womega & submit it few days ago.
Thanks a lot brother that you inspire me a lot
Hey @nathanmars.
I can totally understand your point, and just wanted to express my feelings and my gratitude for something I realized earlier today.
First of all, it's fairly easy for anyone to get discouraged on Steemit nowadays. Many of the "little guys" that are far below me in terms of Steem Power, are at the highest risk. I have 1300 Steem Power and even though I consider myself to be seaweed in this big ocean of creatures, I am fully aware of the fact that I'm still larger than many, many others out there.
What I do, personally, is to delegate most of my stake towards the @asapers project and the people who're directly involved in this project I'm the co-founder of. And even though we potentially could support whales, dolphins or other users with thousands of Steem, we focus on the newcomers, as we believe that we can motivate, inspire and encourage them to stay on the platform, as long as we support them in the best possible ways we can.
That's why we share the rewards with our followers, as those are the people we are manually curating. We help them to get exposure and some extra rewards, which ultimately will help them to interact and grow easier by themselves.
However, I'm getting off-topic here, as this was only one of the things I wanted to share with you. The second thing, is just the fact that I noticed your amazing support on the "Push To 500 SP"-article I published yesterday. That single upvote of yours almost covers my entire donation towards that user we successfully pushed into the minnow-category, and I just wanted to let you know that I am truly grateful for it.
With all this being said, this is not an attempt to "fish" for any potential delegations towards me or the asapers project, this was just to tell you that I noticed the support and I am thankful for it.
Also, while I was trying to explain what my intentions are with the asapers project, I also just wanted to let you know that I can understand your reasons to not engage or support any users below 100 SP from this date. Even though I personally believe that we need to support them, we have different projects and initiatives out there to do just that. Hopefully, that'll ease your pain a little bit, and you can focus on people that actually cares about the platform... As truth to be told, it's often very difficult to see if users with small amounts of Steem truly contributes with something, or if they are in this in an attempt to get rich quick.
Thank you once again!
There are a lot of trolls here at steemit and just extracting the blood of this platform although there are also #Dracula-whales here as well.
But for a member to succeed in here they must have to prove themselves and then the community will just recognize them.
It is a long process so if a steemian will learn how to properly steemit or not will be known based on their actions if they are willing to do it right or wrong. @nathanmars
@nathanmars, Yes, if we are in an community then for sure we should contribute in an positive way, in this way or that way because in that way we can provide the true value.
And Community develops when people support each other. And Steem is combinations of many communities so, it will not be wrong if we call Steem Economy as an Community.
But unfortunately we see lot of hate and discouraging feedbacks and sometimes it never sounds relevant. And in the most of the cases people sound negative because they think that they are not making anything but others are. But in my opinion, the truth is, whoever is making something or more here that is possibly because of one of the reason as, effective Investment, engagement, development, creativity and much more, so it's better to find our best aspect and not to find the hate aspect towards others just because we are failing to take effective steps.
And if we have to give then for sure we should not step back to give the feedback which holds the Constructive Criticism, and for sure constructive criticism can inspire people to improve.
Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂
This opinion will probably not be very popular but that is a very elitist way of going about it. Yes, I am sure you are very busy and need to focus your time and weed out "trolls" but there are still alot of good people on steam just getting started. This is a very new if not ultra new platform. Don't be too reactionary just yet and try to keep an open mind. Anyway, just my thoughts and either way I will keep following and hope to grow along the way. Not sure I will ever get to your level or 100 level but I have faith in steemit and it's user community.
Thank you so much for writing this up!
I certainly should be more open minded!!!!!!!!!!
To be honest I know how it feels and the way you are trying to help Steemians is indeed a great thing but some people will just go the way they always want to .Some experienced users dies say this "Steemit is not for Everyone" After many things over the past year I am starting to believe that as well.
While I do like your approach and it will justify that the one you are helping are indeed doing the hard work and they do deserve it as well :)
Keep the good Work of yours going.
Thanks for your meaningful comment and compliments! I appreciate it !!!
I’ll probably allow people who has less than 100SP to contact me directly so that I can help them one on one.
Yes, i have than 100 sp, nowadays I am just working on #steemhunt and I also delegated little amount of sp to #steem-ua for their project!

Yeah I am man I’m so sorry for the late reply I’ve been running round like a looney am moving tomorrow hehe excited and nervous :’(
I get quite a few comments from spammers. Honestly I feel bad that they don't even have less than $100 to get their account going.
The sad thing is though if they did have $100 I don't think they would spend it on Steem. They want something for nothing. That's bad business.
Invested ~1850 SP. I'm super ready! =)
Well a more adequate explanation towards a fresh steemers rather then putting them in completely obsessed manner well said @nathanmars
Awesome @nathanmers i like it and thank you for sharing this beautiful post with us and East and West you are the best
@nathanmars, interesting point of view. But, I am just curious, how did you chose the 100 SP level? I mean why exactly 100 SP?
