Infeksi pada hidung luar ini terbagi menjadi dua yaitu :
- SELULITIS
Selulitis ini merupakan infeksi pada kulit hidung yang disebabkan oleh streptococcus atau staphylococcus. Selulitis biasanya sering mengenai puncak hidung dan batang hidung, dapat terjadi sebagai akibat perluasan furunkel pada vestibulum.
Pemeriksaan :
Hidung tampak bengkak (edema), hiperemis, dan sangat nyeri.
Tata Laksana :
Dapat diberikan terapi antibiotik sistemik, kompres air hangat dan pemberian analgetik
2.VESTIBULITIS
Penyebab : Infeksi staphylococcus aureus
Faktor predisposis :
• Biasanya terjadi karena iritasi dari sekret rongga hidung (rinore) akibat inflamasi mukosa yang menyebabkan hipersekresi sel goblet dan kelenjar seromusinosa.
• Akibat adanya trauma karena mengorek hidung
Gambaran Klinis :
Vestibulum eritema dan nyeri
Krusta, skuama, erosi atau ekskoriasi pada vestibulum
Tata Laksana :
• Mengobati penyebab rinore
• Membersihkan krusta dan skuama
• Pemberian antibiotik topikal dan sistemik
