There's an aspect of this that is unfortunate for everyone in many ways. Some people have an extreme gift and talent. Maybe it's only in one very specific thing. I'm generalizing but without skills in marketing or self promotion or good one to one social skills that gift gets lost to the world. Sometimes you hear about people like that after they have died or someone makes a documentary movie. Maybe one of the most extreme cases would be Alan Turing who certainly deserved better than what he got
Agreed, it can be unfortunate.
Also, though it shows why fair is such a poor expectation.
