I decided to make the second post of my second year on STEEM about the Age of Abundance. This is a central tenet in my belief system especially as it pertains to STEEM.
It is easy to get caught up in all the gloom and doom. There are many, even on here, who espouse that message. They believe that things are getting worse and the world is going to suffer a total collapse.
The reality of the situation is that things tend to be more evolutionary than revolutionary. We see a powerful system in place that keeps everything propped up. This is going to be replaced but it will not be an overnight process. Nevertheless, many seem to feel that the "end is near".
There is no doubt we will see a clearing out of the old. In fact, this is imperative for the new to replace it. However, the Age of Abundance is a process that is going to creep in layer by layer. It is not one event or circumstance that changes everything. Instead, it is a million different things happening on a daily basis that builds up over time. We, in the cryptocurrency world, are now a part of that change.
One of the first steps for humanity is to take control of the monetary system. For thousands of years, we see the effects of the scarcity model. The few had control of the creation and distribution of money which meant they profited first. That means the masses are left to fight over the scraps.
Crypto-economics is replacing this. We already see how this is forming on STEEM. One of the wonderful aspect of this blockchain is that we are seeing the potential of this entire industry right here. There are a number of applications already rewarding users with second tokens above just STEEM. This is an example of how people are going to be able to leverage their activities for money.
None of this stops the gloom and doom. The propaganda machine is entrenched in our culture. We see the garbage the MSM spreads yet it is eaten up like people are starving. This only serves to instill fear in them.
The past year made me truly realize what a life with fear is all about. Our monetary system, which is based upon scarcity for the masses, is designed to propagate that among us. Today, I realize how powerful the crypto-economics shift is. I continually write about the potential of STEEM since it is very clear to me.

One of the challenges of the doom and gloom people is they have been talking about it for years. Some of them are even into their second decade with the rhetoric. Their answers to the problems are a farce since it seems the problem doesn't exist, at least to the degree they are discussing.
The truth is the world, for all the faults there are, is becoming a better place. Humanity is improving with each passing decade. A lot of this I attribute to technology which is only starting to ramp up. For all the problems in the world, we are beginning to see some progress. Of course, a lot is unknown which also instills fear.
For example, I tend to believe that there will be massive unemployment due to technological advancements. We are in an age when technology is advancing at a pace we never witnessed before. Hence, society will not be able to shift in time. I actually think this is a good thing since I do not believe there is any problem.
Massive unemployment will change the nature of work. We are closing in on a point where future generations will not slave away at a job for a measly paycheck every couple weeks. I am at the point now where I realize how absurd it is. Since most people detest what they do and many question whether those jobs are needed, it is time to get rid of them.
Of course, this brings up the discussion of how do these people live. This is where the paradigm shift to crypto-economics enters. There is plenty of money. Imagine how many families Facebook and Google could feed. Between the two of them, they have a marketcap of over $1.5T. The challenge is that those who benefit from these entities tend to be the fat cats on Wall Street. That is going to change.
Entities which derive their value mostly from the input of the masses are not going to succeed. There is a new system available to pay people directly. STEEM is an example of that system. As ecosystems develop around different communities on here, more power will be taken away from the traditional companies.
At this point, most of the world is not aware of what is taking place. The paradigm shift I am referring to is a technological explosion that makes society completely different from what we know. We got a glimpse of it the past few decades with the introduction of the Internet. However, this ended up as a centralized, siloed system that only a few control (and profit from). Web 3.0 is going to completely change that.
The starting point is for all of us reading these words to understand what is taking place. There is enough open source out there that puts technological power in the hands of millions of geeks. These people, by their nature, tend to be non-conformist and idealists. This is a good thing. The challenge was, in the past, they ended up not being able to resist the huge sums of money the establishment offered. Let us be real, very few can walk away from the millions of dollars these geniuses were offered.
Once again, we see crypto-economics taking hold. These geniuses can monetize their ideas. Through this process, tokenization, they are more immune to the flashy offers from Wall Street backed companies. This is crucial for long-term decentralization.
Money is not everything but it is a vital part of the freeing of humanity. The reason for this is because it was a weapon used against us for so long. It is a core component of our predicament where a few are in control. The way the present system is constructed, money brings power. Stated another way, for the most part, a lack of money equates to zero power.
There is a lot more to the Age of Abundance that I will get into in the time ahead. However, the important thing to take away is there is no reason for doom and gloom. No matter what is taking place, there are solutions being worked out. At the same time, there are enough open source ideas being developed that the existing power structure is going to have a tough time holding onto the status quo. In fact, if you look closely, you can see it starting to crack some.
Personally, I feel everyone on here should be getting excited. For the first time in the history of humanity, we are starting to acquire the tools to radically alter the landscape. There is finally a path that is unfolding which we all can follow. STEEM is a part of that path.
There is an opportunity before all of us. However, we will not see that if we approach things with the same fear and anger as we do everything else. Realizing the impact the system had on us and the conditioning we all endured helps us to break free of it. Money is not real, it is something made up. If that is the case, how can it be scarce? The development of cryptocurrency shows that it is not. The next 9 months will repeat this lesson to us.
Whatever those who spread the message of doom and gloom are saying, ignore them. They are wrapped in the age of scarcity. By shifting your focus to the abundance that is before us, we can see how it instantly uplifts ourselves and, in turn, whomever we come in contact with.
This is how we are going to alter the course of humanity: one person at a time.

I think change is the natural order of the universe, and there is no denying we are in the middle of a rapid evolution of the technological kind.
