Welcome to Steem,
If you are new, you have joined us at an interesting time. Those still here are the survivors of a year-long bear market. In addition, we have recently learned that our primary (and basically) only development company (SteemIt, Inc.) has over-extended it's self financially and is unsure of what they will provide going forward. We have mixed feelings about this and some are still a bit in shock.
Most have realized that the next crypto bull run might be more of a grind and of course, there is still room for further dips in the crypto space prices.
However, rough times usually bring out the skilled and solution-oriented players and many of us are committed to stay and find solutions and work on the problems.
It is unlikely you will be welcomed or trained or coddled, but if you love to write and meet interesting people or if you are just interested in learning about Crypto or experiencing the chaos of a decentralized community, you may find a lot of interesting views, articles, trolling and various projects. You are welcome to serve yourself.
If you are interested in staying and earning a bit of crypto here and there, you may read, vote, write and engage.
No one knows where we are headed, but we are trying to build the future of money, maybe social media and doing it on the blockchain.
Maybe you have something to add?
@whatsup,
Understand the concept, build a dev team, learn dev languages like python and node js and try to bring more apps into the blockchain!
One day SMT will hit the ground, at that day you can be at Millionaires club! Welcome!
Cheers~
If it pans out financially, I will be excited. For now, I am trying to be happy about the education it has provided me.
Welcome new users.
Here is the guide for using Steem
Welcome new users.
Here is my guide for using Steem
Do what you love or what you really want to do and make a film or post about it Make friends and find similar minded souls Build groups, meet in real life, have fun, colaborate Start steeming! If you earn some $ fine, but don´t just come to make a quick bug.
This is great!
Welcome to our new users...
Free advice.
Work hard. Engage the community. That will become your investment if you can't afford to buy more Steem power or monster cards.
Reply every comment you get as that encourages more engagement and more comments.
Last advice... Don't RELY on Steem as your only income. Bear markets do happen!

MAke sure that you also explore the Steem blockchain - there are multiple different dapps you can earn from such as @musing, @actifit, @dlike and many many more!
This too! :) Thank you.

Haha, I laughed out loud! :)
Welcome to any new users - you are in for a bumpy ride - I know many of you wont last past a week, but those who do will find a great community, and man, many great projects with a great future!
Post more selfies and help make Steemit as popular as fakebook!
That dude looks like a Klingon had a baby with Russell Brand
I would add to find communities that will engage together to support members and teach them ways to be effective in the ecosystem. Communities are our strength as we will demonstrate in the short term.

Nothing to add at the moment, this is a cool way to welcome the newbies, with the current state of the platform hahaha, I hope many can enjoy the experience despite the situation of the blockchain
I joined when Steem was low, I watched it go up and then down again. I have complete faith it will go up again, but the crypto matters very little to me! It's all about the people and the wonderful friends I have here.
I joined when Steem was about $4 and have just seen it go down and down the whole time :(
I am still positive that the price will reverse sometime, I just dont know when...
It would be great to know that, but in the meantime we can all continue to make Steem a fun place to be!
For newcomers???
My tips to newbies :
I'm afraid the bear market is bringing out the troll that lives inside me..what should I do?
Hey Whatsup! I got pruned from Steemspeak and have not been able to get back on. Could somebody fire me an email or something with an invite back on the channel?

Pretty accurate post I'd say. I bought STEEM as a project I thought had potential back in December 2017 when it was $3.38, so hmmm, not so good as an investment at the moment. But I transferred it the platform a couple of months ago and started interacting. I found out I like writing and I've been trucking along ever since one step at a time.

A post with a lot of truth. I have been here for a year now, I really believe that everything will improve. We are survivors and that will have its reward
In my opinion it might be what we should have been saying all along. Instead of the get rich quick bs.
Hey! Steemians, I am new here and currently I am learning python. Hope I will add something worthful to this wonderful platform in future. Till then
keep loving keep steeming
Welcome.
I joined Steem purely for drama.
I'm still surviving even though I can't earn much because I'm enjoying here, I can write stories, pom, about my emotions and about happenings in our country and our place

Yep, we can still do all the same things.
Hehe, I love this. Pretty accurate! I am one of those who are riding out the storm. I remain optimistic and believe that this might be one of the best times ever to join Steem.
I'm exactly of the same line of thinking

The fluctuation of price is not good for market! People will disappointed!
I think the opposite. The low price makes it easier to buy some steem and power up. All those people playing Steem Monsters can sell a few cards and get some Steem now. Then they might discover all the other interesting things going on with the Steem blockchain. Those that are only here to speculate on the price might get disappointed and leave but that's not a bad thing.
