Podping is still behind the scenes to a certain extent. If a podcaster is self hosting and knows how to run a bit of Python, for sure they can start pinging right now either by talking to Dave at @podcastindexorg (that's what https://podnews.net is doing in that little table) or by directly running the Hive-writer themselves with their own Hive account.
But we're not really pushing this kind of use yet but we absolutely will when we have even more of the big hosts signed up which makes it absolutely essential for apps and indexes to watch the Podping feed on Hive.
