Why am I against weed legalization in Canada

in #canada6 years ago

Hello everyone,

as some of you may already know. Canada decided to legalize weed all over Canada on October 17th 2018.
Some people may think woah nice! Everyone can now enjoy this herb without risk....

FALSE!

Since Canada legalized w33d, rules around w33d have never been that strict!
Each province have their own rules.
People can now be fined if they buy w33d from an unauthorized seller.
I'm not simply talking about a simple 200$ fine.. But A LOT more!

The problem is, like in Quebec province, people can only buy their weed at the SQDC store (controlled by the government) with expensive prices.
The second problem is... They ran out of stock within the first week in the province of Quebec!
The third problem is... People living in Quebec or Manitoba CANNOT grow their own w33d like the rest of Canada where they can grow up to 4 plants....

Another bad thing for the province of Quebec is the new prime minister... He want to change the legal smoking age from 18 to 21. He also want to change the maximum quantity a household can possess from 150g to 15g!
In some other province people can have UNLIMITED quantity at home but it need to be for their own usage only.

It really drive me crazy how rules around this plant cannot always be applied.

Like the fact that you cannot own ''illegal'' w33d.. But what does make your w33d illegal??? Having it in a official package? Even police officers cannot know if you purchased your weed legally or not. Thats a problem.

But other than that,
they started doing road block almost everywhere since legalization to check if people are driving under influence... As if no one was smoking and driving before . . . Another HUGE problem is how can they decide if someone is too high to drive?
Soon they will have a saliva test but even that test from what I'v seen can detect THC in saliva for up to 5 hours after smoking. This simply doesn't make sense... Most people know that an hour and half after smoking most of people are perfectly fine to drive and aren't affected anymore.......

Some city are even banning w33d!
Before legalization it was illegal everywhere to smoke w33d but people were doing it anyway and not one cared.
Since legalization, many cities are banning w33d smoking in public (also a lot of house owner are banning people to smoke inside).
It now more complicated than ever to go around Canada and smoking since now if you get caught smoking in on of these town where they banned it. You may get a fine that can be expensive...!

In my own opinion I would suggest to rethink laws around this plant because most of them are not applicable or simply doesn't make sense! I personally think they simply did this to try to get as much money they can from something that is already being sold everyday, everywhere.

True legalization would be great...
