Hello, and welcome to my cannabis update!
A couple of days ago, a lady that I know who is a medical cannabis grower came over to the house to give me a quick lesson in starting clones from my cannatonic plant. She showed me which stems would be the best to use for clones and how to cut them from the plant. I had bought a small container of rooting gel, and I had the other necessary stuff for the process. We started by taking 2 stems for the cloning process. I don't have any more seeds for the cannatonic strain, so if I can clone a few more plants, that will be good.
Here's the cannatonic plant .
Here's the 2 clones after getting them set up. The medium that they're in is coconut coir.
After that, I trimmed off a bunch of the big leaves to hopefully get the little side branches to grow more. It looks a bit sad now without all those big leaves. As you can see, I didn't take all of them off. I just removed the leaves next to the side shoots that were already starting to develop.
I also took a picture of the other plant, the Blue Dream plant that I have in the house. I had to raise the light again a few days ago, a couple of the leaves were touching the bulb and had brown spots from the heat. I really should check that plant more often.
The Blue dream plant is developing differently than the Cannatonic that's out in the natural light. The big light bulb above the indoor plant tends to cause the plant to grow toward it instead of spreading out like the natural light does. On the plus side, there's a lot of developing side shoots on the indoor plant. It could be partly due to the different genetics also, but I'm guessing that different light produces different results.
That's all I have for this update, thanks for checking it out!
I hope your clones are a success. A very testing time for you, the best of luck 😎

Thanks!
Cloning just takes repetition and it will become a mindless or even zen technique..
That blue dream really stretched hard !

Yeah, the Blue Dream has been crowding the light pretty hard. I had to raise the light again today. The side shoots are really starting to pop out of the main stems now also.
The two cloned must not be exposed to too much of sunlight I guess
They were from lower branches, so they weren't getting much sunlight.
Okay. Now I see
An excellent overview @amberyooper and you approach the cultivation of cannabis very thoroughly, so as a result the plant looks amazing!
cool post- I had spoken to the folks at SDRC here in San Diego about getting a clone_ they have them and I asked how hard they were they to grow- they said - its not easy -:)
Some people have good luck with them and some people have a hard time getting them to root. I think it's a matter of technique as well as luck.
