In the photo (above) you can see what Alien Skunk looked like before she danced with some gardening shears.
Took all the top cones (because they were ready).
Will monitor every day with a microscope as the remaining cones continue to ripen.
The remaining cones, now have better sun exposure and will continue to develop over the next week.
If we take theft out of the equation, the risk is: days of rain in a row and colder temperatures at night.
I’ll follow this plant and document the changes that continue to occur.

We are coming to a conclusion with this particular medicinal garden. 12 different strains, all of which I am freeze drying and collecting hydrosols from.
There’s a couple more weeks left before it’s too cold for anything to grow anymore and it definitely feels like we’re in the homestretch now.
Getting closer, we are.

It was 10 degrees Celsius or 50 degrees Fahrenheit the day we cut Alien Skunk. Yesterday (October 1st) was humid and 63 degrees F was the lowest...not good to bounce so drastically because we run the risk of fox-tailing. Rain for the next 3 days and by the time Friday night hits, 35 degrees F is the expected low. Danger of frost. I figure, we’re 1/2 way through and now it’s a race between our ability to cut and the conditions that Mother Nature lays on us. We’ve secured material from 10 out of 12 strains...lagging behind is CD1 and Bubba Kush. I may not have long enough sun exposure to grow those strains (outside) at my current position longitudinal and latitudinal speaking.
I’ve learned a lot from this particular garden. ;)
Oh nice! I picked up this strain in saskatoon at the prairie cup there in the summer of 2016 i think it was. The breeder was natty roots i believe. I had really good trichome production with this strain. Nice and skunky too.

No and I am thankful.
However, I haven’t taken much risk...this is my 2nd outdoor grow.
I love growing outdoors and prefer it to indoors.
Plants have all done really well...got them strategically positioned. That south facing hill is also home to the properties’ septic field which was 80% blocked (for at least) the last 30 years. Bacteria, water, sun, nutrients, love and being just crazy enough to try it. You know the drill and you know the workload, first hand. Thanks for feeling the weight of harvest and what’s had to happen for the last 9 months to get to this point. Lol!
No we didn't get up to Canada this year. Work and health issues kept us local this summer.
I would have to say that indoor and outdoor grows both have their challenges. But are both fun in their own ways. I know that isn't saying much. I like the control that indoor grows offer the grower, whereas the shear quantity you can get from outdoor grows cannot be ignored.
Lol the use of a septic field for a grow site! That's genius.

We’ve just made it through harvest and it’s nearing the end of October.
I am all about figuring out how best to live with the bacteria that we’re all hosts to and for.
It seemed to me that if I grew cannabis over the field that I was populating with specific intent, it could and would adapt specifically to me...that and the person who lived in the house for almost all of its life, was 107 when she died. We bought good shit. Literally. Lol! (That part really makes me laugh).
Yeah, I probably have a problem, but it’s working. ;D

How did you make that? I only know how to make tincture..
and how do you use it? and dose it?
Are you making tincture using high % alcohol?
If so, you are 1/2 way through the process of making a full extracted cannabis oil.
You’d need to soak cannabis in 95% alcohol, shake it well, filtre the plant material out, and then evaporate the alcohol off.
What remains is a concentrate of cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBN ect.)
I decarb my cannabis as my first step. This activates it and makes it 10x stronger and completely ready to eat, right from the start.
Finished concentrate can be eaten in (rice grain size) doses or, it can be dabbed on a hot nail through a bong or added to a bowl or a blunt.
It is common to hit 65-90 % THC or CBD in concentrate that is made this way.
10% is industry standard. If you used 100 grams of dried flower and it’s a descent strain (for making concentrate) you can expect to capture 10 grams of concentrate for your efforts. Cost to buy (usually, in my area) is $50 a gram for a standard strain (nothing fancy).

I have been harvesting for a month, so far.
Lmfao! I know people who do lick...their own fingers. I just roll it off and make hash balls from it and from what builds up on my trimming scissors. Nice treat after a long day. ;)
