See What I See: A Sativa In Silvertone

I am making an effort to preserve what the image of a Sativa dominant cannabis strain’s leaf structure, looks like.

They are becoming rarer to see.

The herb is being taken over by hybrids (as you can see) in the width of the leaves, demonstrated in the photo (below).

6 different strains, each with a different girth in their leaf structure.

Starting with a Sativa on the left and moving towards an Indica on the right.

At one time, you could generally count on a Sativa to provide motivation and energy; while an Indica would offer sedation and make you sleepy.

Now, we know that those physical effects are due to the terpene profile of the plant or basically, how it smells.

Enjoy skinny leaves while you can...because they are becoming rarer to find. With awareness, hopefully we won’t breed quality right out of the herb as we work to produce the perfectly balanced medicine.

Around here people are Sativa crazed. We have every strain known to man in Vancouver, but most people (including the young crowd, and the newcomers via "legalization") want Sativa. We have not noticed any decrease in available Sativa genetics, here at least!
We generally don't notice the same difference between "Sativa" and "Indica" strains that most people do. When it comes right down to it, their differences are mostly cultural/historical, not physical. They all have the same cannabinoids and terpenes, just in slightly different proportions, and all come from the same species of plant Cannabis sativa. There ARE differences between the strains, no doubt there, but we don't believe anymore that it's as simple as "sativa for day and indica for night" like we used to. That simplistic view doesn't seem to pan out in the science from what we've read/seen/done.

Thanks for providing such great detail about what’s happening in BC @vantocan.
Agreed about the scientific study helping to explain how the herb works...that’s starting to help.
There’s a shortage of Sativa dominant strains in my area. In keeping with this, high % CBD is also difficult to get your hands on.
Everyone seems to want sedation, but are also fearful of feeling paranoid and panicked.

Sativa Love :)

I ❤️ true Sativas too!

Yeah sativas are also starting to get a bad rep with the young community, which is mind boggling to me. They think only indicas can be top shelf, when there is really no such thing as a true indica now a days either. Hybridization has really come to every part of the world. Hopefully the land-races do not completely disappear.

Jack herer is one of my favorite sativa dom smokes, :)
