This year's Monsoon season seems to have arrived early. In this heavy rains of monsoon, make car driving rain-worthy we have to keep some tips in mind while driving or before going to drive a car in rain. Let’s talk about it.
Driving Speed
In this Rainy Season, we have to control on driving speed and need to stay alert. Drive at a low speed make sense and to use ABS braking system. Because, the friction between tyre of your car and road is less in rain or watery road and it’s dangerous when it would result in hydroplaning(skidding). Tyre with good tread depth is also important to drive safely on rainy roads.
Washer Wipers & Head Lights:
A Good quality of well-working wipers must require to drive in rain. Since last monsoon the wiper blades become hard and damaged. So it need to replace. Also, check the windscreen washer is in working condition or not.
Turn on your car’s headlights while driving in rain for better visibility. Also turn on Fog lights if needed. Regular yellow head lamps give better contrast. Always use good quality bulbs.
Defog the Windscreen:
To improve visibility on windscreen we can use HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) function of our car. In this function of AC we can turn air flow from dashboard towards the windscreen, This way we can clear fogged windscreen.
For, Non Air Conditioned Cars we have to open our side windows to ventilating. This way we can defog windscreen.
Turn off Cruise Control:
While driving in Rain turn off cruise control. It may cause you to lose control. If you hydroplane while you are in cruise control mode you will go actually faster. Never use cruise control in slippery surfaces, it’s very risky.
Use Mud Flaps:
Must fit Mud flaps to all four wheels before we go for drive. No one likes driving behind a car that is spraying a lot of muddy water, and it can be dangerous for others. So driving responsibly is also important as driving safely.
