It's April fools day in Canada and don't we look foolish. Well, not me because I've never fallen for the doomsday predictions of enviro-nazis.

I was distrustful years ago before Alexandria Occasional Cortex said we have 12 years left before cow farts end the world; before Bill Nye said anyone who doesn't believe in climate change should be jailed. Even before Al Gore made millions of dollars from his inconvenient movie, I was very skeptical of what passed for environmentalism. What made me skeptical of the green movement was the way television commercials subtly told viewers that the sins of the manufacturer must be paid for by the consumer. It was up to us to "buy better" and "shop smarter". Get twisty lightbulbs and take the bus because why would big corporations change their behaviour? The message was clear that the change in behaviour was ours to make. And it was as condescending back then as the climate crusaders are today...it was just subtle.

During an armchair discussion where Justin Trudeau and Bill Nye discussed investing in Canadian innovation, Justin made the case that when we're babies, we're scientists.
After he said that I realized when you are a Liberal, you're a baby.
This was one more example of how Liberals insist on grandstanding, pontificating, virtue signalling...but never contributing. To a Liberal, the impression of good intentions is far more valuable than the effects of doing what's right because, despite any disastrous outcome, you intended the best. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY!

Here we are, April of 2019 and in Canada, the carbon tax is officially implemented. No debate, no vote, no regard for its impact on the lives of Canadians. No one has mentioned that the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman is doubtful of manmade climate change. Nor that the "97% of scientists agree climate change is real" line just means that 97% of scientists whose research is funded and subsidized by governments were compelled to agree, lest they lose their funding.

The government here has, like those of many around the world, taken another step in the "We know what's best for you" direction. And there's not a goddamn thing we can do about it.... or is there?

The emergence of the People's Party of Canada (PPC) is refreshing and makes me optimistic for our future as a nation. Many Canadians are standing up to the cry-bullies and do-gooders who wish to police our every thought and deed. Responsible adults have the chance to take responsibility and vote for a party that is grounded in reality. A party whose platform is based on smaller government, freedom of the people to decide their own destinies, and above all who intend to protect Canada's national sovereignty.

It baffles me how many people have been deceived into believing that it is the government's place to decide what washroom one may use or what words we can't say. It's like watching the child outgrow their babysitter so the babysitter concocts all manner of stories about goblins and ghouls in the closet or under the child's bed...so as to remain relevant. It all stinks of desperation. It's almost time to clear the air.

Come October, Canadians will have the chance to demonstrate that the dynamic of power is in the people's favour and not in the favour of a big, meddlesome, manipulative government. If you have any doubt that more and more Canadians are peeling off their government-issued bubble wrap suits and saying, "I can take care of myself", just look at the rate at which Canadians are becoming members of the PPC. Look at their fundraising goals being exceeded. Come October the dynamic of power will surely change so let me tell you on this day of April fools... you'd be a fool not to be a part of it.
