Cool post. Funny anecdote regarding Porsche prices. Around 2014 a friend and fellow gearhead and I decided to pool money for a reasonably priced Porsche more with the thought of using it and having fun than making money. Back then the 996 turbo had reached its absolute low in terms of prices on the Euro market and you could grab one for around 20k.
We didn't pull the trigger and time moved on. Around 6 months ago I met up with him and we got talking Porsche again. We checked the 996 turbo prices at auctions and on online markets - not a single one could be had for less than 65 grand!!! I call that A-precciation.
Only thing it taught us is to time the prices right with older gen 911s cuz the cycles are always the same.
