New Ford Capri but not as we know it | saying that, it's pretty good

So first things first - how many of you get the pop culture reference in the title? (And yes, I know it's not Quite accurate, but it does have to fit with the constraints of the sentence) mind you, the actual saying is from the song about the cult TV show, not the show itself...but I digress!

For many, many, many people, The Ford Capri looks like this:

A Classic - An Icon - A Legend.
Even after production stopped nearly forty years ago, there is a lot of love for this fastback coupe, and with good reason.

Thing is, Ford own the name, so they have the right to do whatever they want with it, and it's not the first time they have recycled one, so....

This. Is. The. New...Fully Electric. Ford. Capri...

So love them, or hate them for doing it, Ford have "redesigned" their classic for a new era. When you look at the two of them, there are design queues that pay homage to the original, and they've tried to encapsulate the spirit of it in this new one.

As you might have guessed, there are quite a few - inherent - problems with what they've done, so it really comes down to personal preference and whether or not you have any kind of prejudice against this type of practice.

Personally, I feel that Ford have missed a trick by not giving this electric SUV it's own name, and this is because it's actually rather good. It handles well, gives you an engaging drive, and it's full of tech and safety, plus it comes in at a price where you get lots of car for the money, and with it being an EV, it's potential in today's automotive climate means it versatile and user friendly too.

Join us as we have a closer look at this new Capri, and let us know what you think - would you drive one?

Thank you all, and enjoy!
