When we had the 4th Gen Rexton on review earlier this year, I honestly didn't think it could get any better...luckily, SsangYong proved me wrong - this is their new 5th Gen SUV.
As we are wont to do, we took this off roading up to the green lanes of the Lake District to see how it handled.
Now, the engine remains the same, however it now has a Transys 8 speed Hyundai gearbox, which is automatic. It also far smoother on road as well, and the fact that you can get this seven seater for just £42,000.00, is astounding!
It's suitable for farmers, lifestyle enthusiasts, and as it can tow 3.5 tonne, it's perfect for caravans too.
It's so good at towing, that you don't even realise you're towing anything until you look in your mirrors!
It's got heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats, and lots of safety and tech, with a fuel economy of around 28 mpg, that only drops to around 26 when off road.
Keep an eye for our road trip, where we tow our Mk2 Golf down to Leyland, demonstrating how capable the Rexton is...
