Hector was one coward character, who was under the control of Dracula and then Carmilla. He was once faithful towards Dracula, but then the seductive Carmilla came in and persuaded him to betray his master. Throughout the four seasons, Hector is a weak and submissive character. The one who was treated like a tool by more than five vampires (first Dracula and then the Council of Sisters). Only by the end of season 4 does he show some couage and power, by incarcerating Lenore and betraying Carmilla.
The most bizzare part would be his relationship with Lenore. Lenore was a female vampire and one of the four Council of Sisters. She is known to be manipulative and shrewd, acting innocent. She was in charge of training Hector, after he was kidnapped and brought to Carmilla's kingdom. Lenore treated Hector like he was below her, she constantly refers to him as "pet" or "slave". But at the same time, she tries to seduce him. Astoundingly, Hector fell for it.
Throughout their time together, Lenore and Hector developed a very eerie bond. They see each other as mistress and slave, but at the same time they seem to have feelings for each other. I was led to believe that Lenore deceived Hector, after she finally placed a ring on his finger to control his army. I remember sighing and saying to myself "finally!! There's an explainable to this weird relationship".
But then after that, the two of them went back to their weird relationship like none of this dishonesty ever happened. What made it even more confusing for me, was how Lenore would always stand up for Hector whenever he got verbally attacked by the other female vampires. I thought to myself "if she really cared about Hector, then why would she work as a double-agent". Lenore is a very confusing character for me; she has her deceiving side and then there's her loving side.
So, to those who's watched Castlevania (especially the last two seasons), what do you think? What are some of your thoughts around Hector and Lenore's relationship, and there personalities as individuals? For me, it was definitely one of the most confusing love stories I've ever seen of.
