This cat though

My sister works for a lion sanctuary and rehabilitation centre. A couple of years ago, someone from a nearby town found a cub in a field after its mother passed away.

The cub grew up but due to exposure and the time spent in the open she was badly injured. The vet managed to save her life and thousands of Rands were spent on medical care.

The result was that Elsa would never be able to be set free into the wild again and she became accustomed to people.

Since this picture was taken (that's me under a 120kg lion), she had another operation and is now almost 9 years old. She sometimes struggles to walk but is now living with another lioness in a camp. Human interaction like in this picture is no longer possible (I guess it's possible, but the survival rate might not be good).

I just want to add that I am completely against canned hunting (or any hunting for that matter) and that wild animals should be in the wild as far as humanly possible.
