RE: Video platforms and frameworks

in #catocracy3 years ago

Proof of Work blockchains usually have the growing transfer fee issues, and mining requires certain hardware. So compared to Staking solutions it is hard to see bittube having a chance in open service markets. Not very familiar with the platform itself, or connections to exchanges etc.

One thing is the userbase, YT is still the most used, but Tokentube became the top Finnish video platform through a so-called bush-radio (puskaradio) method, where censored Ytubers started putting their material to Tokentube and the followers followed there.

So even there are variety of bugs and some random server issues, people do go where the interesting material can be found. A small community thing growing, which is a long-waited trend in Finland.

I agree on the PoW and don't understand why any social media kind of site would use it. Their roadmap does state that they are going to change to PoS or PoC (Proof of Capacity) at some point in time.

I once browsed the TokenTube when you mentioned it the last time. Maybe it's time to look at it again to see where it's going.
