Many accidents happened in split seconds but the damages last for ever. One of the major causes of accident is DISTRACTION of the driver. While driving, you are expected to remain focused observing every rules.
Life is a journey and to a large extent, you are the driver of the vehicle of your life; hence you need to concentrate. You need to be focused. You need to mind what’s important to you and you need to avoid picking on everything.
One of the ways to easily lose self respect and focus is responding to everyone and everything. It doesn’t take you far. It kills your time to achieving what you are set out to achieve in life.
Many have suffered wreckage in their careers because they are distracted. They are distracted by higher pay into terrible jobs and you can imagine other distractive reasons.
One of my course mates in university set out to be a Professor and he remained focused. He was offered jobs by multinationals but he rejected the offer to pursue his career in The Academia.
Today, he’s a consultant to about 5 multinationals; and during conversation last December he told us his earnings in 2 years is more than what he could have earned in 10 years if he had accepted the offer then.
What’s your life goal? What’s your goal for this year? What are the strategies to achieving those goals? In life, if you set a goal, identify what can make you not to achieve those goals. Avoid them at all costs.
People may be your distractions. Social media may be your distractions. Identify your distractions and be determined to avoid them at all costs.
To achieve your dreams, avoid distractions. Most times when we realize our mistakes it appear rather too late to amend.
It is better to prevent an accident than to treat victims of accident. Not everyone will survive from it.
Are you facing any distraction?! Work on it. Your life and career is too expensive to be lost. Be focused and remain focused.
