Celebration

in #celebration4 years ago

Today we celebrate two things in my country Suriname.

It is the day of the indigenous people and the commemoration of 130 years of Javanese immigration.

The natives are recorded as being the first inhabitants of our country.

The Javanese immigrants, of which my great-grandfather was one, arrived here 130 years ago under bizarre circumstances. Poor housing, hard work for meager wages and treatment that cannot be attributed to were their part here in the beginning.

In 2020, the descendant of the Javanese immigrant has taken its place in Surinamese society and you can find them in all branches.

Today a bit of a moderate celebration in connection with the covid situation. But enough to consider in silence

Your look very beautiful. I love what you are wearing.

I hope you had a great celebration of your ancestry. It's a good thing that you have information about your ancestors and their history. It's good to know from whence you came so that you can know how you will go in the future. Never forget.
