2019: A year of brutal and blatant censorship on YouTube

in #censorship5 years ago (edited)

Here's a summary of the Nazi-Germany-level censorship increases on YT in the past 11 months:

There have been 3 main stages of information blocking and manipulation.

1.) Jan 25 - Shadowbanning borderline content (my analysis here)
2.) June 5 - Nazi ban (my analysis here)
3.) Dec 11 - Banning toxic videos and comments (my analysis below)

Shadowbanning borderline content

  • borderline content isn't against the rules, but we're reducing how much there is, and how often it gets seen
  • no discussing conspiracies (about JFK, 9/11, Sandy Hook, censorship, the moon, etc)
  • no plant-based treatments for illnesses
  • no false or misleading information

Nazi ban

  • no supremacy
  • no content that questions events like the Holocaust or the massacre at Sandy Hook
  • no content alleging that a group (based on gender, race, age, religion, etc) is superior to justify discrimination

Banning toxic videos and comments

  • harassment discourages videos and comments because people feel vulnerable :(
  • no veiled/implied encouragement of harassment
  • no veiled/implied threats
  • no insults based on gender expression or sexual orientation
  • offensive content will be deleted, and channel owner may be banned
  • comments are now included in all above rules
  • we're now deleting at least 5 million comments and 3 million videos every month :)

Plus...

In addition to all that, YouTube has also announced drastic sweeping changes which amount to mass censorship via COPPA, going into effect January 1st. They also updated the Terms of Service a few days ago, saying they'll delete any content they consider non-commercially-viable (unprofitable) for them. A while back they also promised to use more automation to quickly remove unwanted content. And they recently stated they're going to outright delete more borderline content, instead of just shadowbanning it, to raise up official content like CNN. Information about 9/11's building 7 is disappearing quickly, along with the knowledge that cannabis cures cancer. Lives, and the direction of society, are clearly in the balance. Stakes are high.

😶 Here's what you can NEVER say on YouTube, FaceBook, and anywhere else mainstream 😶

[Keep in mind that I've never associated with, promoted, sheltered, approved of, made excuses for, or otherwise endorsed anything to do with Nazism. So you Nazis out there, don't think I'm being soft on you, you bunch of narrowminded immoral bigoted goofs. That whole line of thinking has long ago been discredited, and anyone flying that flag in 2019 is either completely off their rocker, or paid to act that way. I can't remember the last time I saw genuine Nazi content on YouTube, or anywhere mainstream. Unless you're throwing the term around to include everything you dislike, there's certainly not much ongoing promotion of this particular doctrine. To be very clear: I don't know any Nazis, 4/20 is about weed to me, and I don't judge people for being who they are (age, sex, ethnicity, etc). It's possible to criticize this "Nazi Ban" policy, and also be anti-Nazi. Thanks for understanding this clarification!]

A cabal (of mostly Zionist Jews) manipulates the majority of mainstream society, through politics, media, entertainment, banking, the military-industrial-complex, and other positions of power/influence. The ultimate goal of YouTube's censorship campaign is really to silence any - and all - critics of the Zionist Jews. Nazis are, for the most part in this situation, just boogeymen - used to justify complete control over the narrative. 'If you're not with us, you're with the Nazis!'

Just this morning, Trump granted special powers to all jews, and granted them immunity from criticism.

Government, media, and big tech demand more regulation

"There's definitely more regulation in store," promised YouTube's CEO. "But it will never be enough," answered CNN.

What's creepy about that, to me, is that we have Big Tech promising to censor and regulate more, with the mainstream media saying that it won't be enough to keep the public safe from fake news, perverts, and hate speech. They pretend they're not on the same team, and like they are acting in the people's best interests, but actually acting directly against the people to bring about a technocratic ultra-fascist police state. Those who can see what's happening are called paranoid, accused of hate speech, or labeled fake news. The masses side with Big Tech, government, and the mainstream media, allowing ever-increasing erosion of personal Liberty in the name of safety.

Yes, I'm fairly alarmed here.

Oh I get it, so when people say "research ______" people can say nothing comes up, you're crazy, man!

No wonder the population has been severely dumbed down over time....they'd have to brain-dead-fucking-retarded to accept what's happening today.

Yeah, the millenial leftard SJWs of today are so passionately focused on phantom issues that don't even exist (at all or anymore) like white supremacy, discrimination against trans, etc. They have absolutely no grasp of history and social psychology, yet they narcissisticly think they're unique, enlightened little snowflakes bringing freedom and justice to the world while they actually ironically are all carbon copies of each other with mob mentality, stupid tools fighting for oppression and genocide.

"At least we have Steem" isn't as powerful and reassuring as it used to be.
Resteemed.

I remember 2010 or so on YouTube. The concern amongst the alternative (truther) community wasn't censorship, yet. It wasn't even on our radar. We had many, and similar, problems... but censorship wasn't yet one of them. How dramatically things have changed in under a decade!
