Tonight, @steemitblog wrote a post welcoming other blockchain projects to post their releases to Steem to negate censorship concerns, a move I support. This seems somewhat contradictory to my stance on community leaders here advertising competitor platforms but, it is not, and this is why.
My complaint about the advertising of other platforms is not to censor them, it is about whether they are able to hold both positions without conflict and I would suggest, no. Borrowing from the @steemitblog post, "people are flawed".
It is not that I don't want them to post, it is that I think that they should spend time considering the conflicts of the positions and how their stance impacts upon others. It is about responsibility and having them post allows me the very chance to see and raise my concerns which means, we can all have a good discussion out in the open. Brilliant.
Now, when it comes to rival blockchains posting their content and potentially advertising here, I am all for it, considering that there is going to be increasing authoritative pressure being placed on all (maybe not XRP) projects and cryptocurrencies moving forward, as they will continue to pressure the protected middleman systems of corporations and governments.
When it comes to advertising, I want people to think a lot but, there is very little in this world that should be censored before it sees the light of day. There is already too much of that going on where citizens are kept in the dark and manipulated by the very people entrusted to have their best interests at the core of their every action. Every action. But, "people are flawed".
So, in a perfect world scenario (which we don't have) the only way to really combat bad actors is transparency because in many cases, it is the bad actors who have created the systems and loopholes in which to hide themselves or, cover their bases. Censorship is the antithesis of transparency when it comes to information and the enemy of anyone hoping to one day live in a world where freedom and community are able to work together for best outcomes.
It isn't going to happen fast and I am unlikely to see it mature in my lifetime but, there is a chance some generations from now, that all of this nonsense is finally put behind us and human flourishing takes precedence. Idealistic perhaps but, it is something to work toward and provides my life with a little more meaning.
However, another reason that I want the projects to post here. Firstly and related to censorship is the ability to keep the informational integrity. As the pace of blockchain tech quickens, so will the FUD and the scams. Having the information immutable and searchable means that it is more difficult to alter it and, it sets up chain of custody for responsibility of action.
Yet, the core reason for me wanting other projects on Steem is the chance for cooperation and collaboration and the influencing energy that can spark creativity, increase promiscuity of thought and function and, bear new fruit. Entire new projects could be born from catalyzing presence of new ideas and competition.
It would be brilliant if more project teams were able to get better views of each other and solve various problems from different perspectives or run side by side to emphasize their immediate entry into a new market. Essentially, an offensive Blitz.
It could even be possible that in time, various portals to the Steem chain become Petrie dishes for project teams and various projects to meet up and grow their ideas from. I am under no illusion that it will cause a lot of early animosity and argument but as I see it, the most effective way of taking down Giants is with decentralized teams working together together, like the Lilliputians tying down Gulliver on his travels.
The cryptosphere is filled with some very large egos backed by some very large wallets but, in comparison to what else roams the IRL waters, the cryptospace is a baby just starting to walk. It has a long way to go before it is not only mainstream but, actually solving the real world problems it needs to in order to take its place as a core infrastructure. At the moment, it is a little bit of promise-ware with a great deal of vaporware thrown into the mix. Well, except for some like Steem which is already being used and, has a proven track record of not censoring, something very few places can claim these days.
I don't know about all of the technology nor how it will all turn out but, we talk a very big game for an industry with very low resources and to fulfill our claims, it is going to take a lot more interaction than we currently have. Perhaps a little more cross-pollination across projects is just what we need to fire us up.
It makes business sense, it makes community sense. Win/win.

Hi Taraz. I trust your judgement on this one. if it's a win/win then good. If it gets this platform pumping then I am all for it.
It may also encourage others to make a shift over, if just for the permanence of record.
In the union is the strength, we also live in society need the support and collaboration of others to emerge and move forward, other projects, more people, more ideas would accelerate the progress we need, I hope not long for this and not left in utopia.
I've always wondered why @rogerkver doesn't post more on steemit. Rather than waste time on other platforms then complain he was censored.
Probably doesn't take Steem seriously.
What the Crypto world doesn't seem to realise is, from the outside looking in. All Crypto is the same.
The market is big enough for many different platforms to coexist. If @rogerkver posted here and helped grow the steem community, he is helping grow the overall Crypto community.

I will go out on a limb and say, I didn't help you much.
I understand that Steem is not Steemit. Steemit relies on Steem (SP). Steem will not keep being generated. Once the quantity of Steem is fixed and the more demand that there is for Steem will only have one result. Hold out for the future because "Tomorrow never dies" and its just around the corner
Having more platforms using Steem even if it is "From Russia with love" is a good thing.
If the demand of Steem does not increase we will just "Die Another Day". I do not want to see Steemit now "Live and Die another day" in the future.
If we play our cards right then the "World is not enough" because our "Casino Royale" will pay off with our coming windfall
This is a good idea. It would mean official reports on project progress not the thoughts of experts. We will be getting information from the horse's mouth so to say. It would also mean pooling a whole lot of crypto information in one place, if it works. That would give the steem bkockchain a certain level of authority as the custodian of the blockchain technology's history and story. Not a bad idea at all, if you ask me
It really could stir things up and hopefully for the best, there are always niggles to sort out with every new venture.
