you have to do all the steps in a first run with a very small amount of cash!
like buy 50$ worth of litecoin and do all the steps with it
then you see how it works, how long the transfers take etc.
this will give you confidence
That is exactly how I began - it was useful particularly regarding accustomising oneself to the (lengthy) times a transaction can take before it is completed.
