This “Opuntia gosseliana” is commonly known as violet "barbed pear". It is a species of cactus that is native to Pima County Arizona in the United States. This Baja is a California, it is the state of northern Mexico which belongs to Chihuahua Sonora, it is like a prickly pear.

Are the fruit edible? We have prickly pear cactus as well, but they are green with yellow or purple fruit.
