I think it should happen but maybe with a smaller budget. HiveFest is much more than marketing the platform to outsiders it also provides a (much needed, this year) boost to user engagement, morale, and a bolstering of our online community ties in general. The platform is clearly struggling. It would be highly valuable to have an open discussion in Barcelona while everyone is face-to-face about what we can do to make Hive better in the coming year—with an end goal of having a road map for improvements. This kind of thing is always more effective to do in person vs. online. We have enough high-IQ individuals here to solve just about any problem if they put their heads together. I feel like if we have nothing at all after a ten year streak of getting together it could be the beginning of the end.
