Post 1: The basic idea

in #challenge8 years ago

Hi there. My name is Andrea and I live somewhere over the rainbows in a small city together with my partner and my cat. I do live a very normal live I guess. I have a full time job as a project manager in software projects, after work I like to go for a walk or hit the gym. I love wintersports and travelling. I also don't mind reading a good book but as I've started to study again (psychology at a distance university) I don't have much time to read other stuff than study books.
I do have some very good friends and a family that I love very much, but that is not always as easy to handle as I wish.

So, all in all, a pretty normal life with ups and downs. I am happy with it and although I always wanted to write a blog, I never had enough time to do so. And this is actually still the case... but, as a new years resolution I promised myself to try a few things this year. Small ones, things that are not essential, but I am always thinink about to do. For example meditation. I've done it a few times (sometimes more, sometimes less). But I've never done it that often so that I can see whether it is helpful for me or not.

This is why I will try those things on my list in this year. Each month I will take on a new challenge. I will stick to it for exactly one month, afterwards, I will decide whether I think it might be worth to try for another month or not. After two month, I should be able to decide if the new routine will become part of my life or not. Why two month? Research says, that it will take around 66 days to form a habit and why writing here? I think I do need some pressure to think about my progress and to stick to it. And I'd also like to hear your thoughts about it.

What are your challenges? Do you have things you'd like to try out? I'm not yet sure about the ordering of my challenges. I will start with meditation, but I still have to decide what shall follow... I'll let you know as soon as I know.
