The World of Love and Charity - Unconventional News Reporting

in #charity6 years ago (edited)

While waiting for any big news that will shake cryptoworld, I will bring you to the world of love and charity in a different perspective - a peculiar concept that amazed everyone including myself. It's a way of doing good to our fellowmen in a higher level of application and it breaks the barrier of regularities.

Most (if not all) media outlets were competing to have a scoop in every news they are into. During a situation when there is an accident, most reporters were very itchy to get an interview of the person's concerned regardless how hard and painful the situation is. All they want is just to get some scoop on an event without minding his fellowmen who is in real danger.

Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon conceptualized the "Tulong Muna, Bago Balita" (Assist Before Reporting) that breaks the conventional way of reporting. He then established the UNTV News and Rescue which aims to help first the needy especially during an emergency situation. Life is far greater than a scoop in news reporting, the UNTV correspondence assists first those persons involved in an accident and they don't need to look for an ambulance since UNTV have their own ambulance and even fire truck that was ready 24/7 to respond to any emergencies. All the staff of UNTV was undergone into comprehensive medical training to be equipped with the necessary skills to help and assist those who are in an emergency situation. And mind you, this medical assistance is absolutely free of charge.

This is the first in history of Philippine broadcasting industry to have this concept of News and Rescue in media institution. It simply breaks the conventional way of reporting and tends to prioritize life than scoop on news reporting.

At UNTV, correspondents are not pressured to make it their priority to break or report news exclusives so long as they put people’s safety and welfare first. In fact, the public service station is very much concerned with saving the lives of people in emergency cases, as contemplated by UNTV’s news advocacy, Tulong Muna Bago Balita (Assist Before Reporting).

UNTV CEO Daniel Razon, who broached the advocacy several years ago but only launched the cause in 2010 when he had the chance, even encourages the training of the station’s correspondents to equip them with rescue and safety skills for emergency missions.

“Our fellowmen are more important than anything else, more than getting and delivering news,” Razon was quoted saying during UNTV’s 6th anniversary celebration last July 18, 2010.

Currently, the news-and-rescue team is concentrated in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces. In order to carry out its rescue and emergency missions, UNTV launched 15 new, news and rescue mobile units last November 28, 2010. The rescue mobile units are equipped with facilities needed for rescue and first aid operations.

In 2011, Razon announced that the rescue mission training will be initiated in all UNTV’s local bureaus in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Last December 31, 2010, UNTV formally launched its first News and Rescue Command Center at the station’s building in Edsa, Quezon City, a unit similar to America’s Rescue 911 to assist in responding during emergency and rescue cases.

The Tulong Muna Bago Balita is considered a milestone in Philippine broadcasting history launched last July 2010, when UNTV introduced the first batch of correspondents who graduated from the training with the Search and Rescue Unit Foundation (SARUF), a recognized army rescue unit in the Philippines.

At first I was surprised to see your post. Where is humanity? Then I realized. Thanks for posting

yup, some people were so frustrating. At least there are some people gives the essence of humanity.

Paradoxically, the penchant for getting interview from accident victims has become a sort of first aid for the press. This is a terrible attitude.

they are just heartless.

Now that’s real reporting. Really impressed and motivated by the work of UNTV. Hope they get more support and backing to accomplish their work more.

yup, I really appreciate on how they show concern to our fellowmen. Its simply amazing!

Glad to heard about Kuya Daniel who changed the bad media tactics during accident. His effort is laudable. otherwise mostly media increase the suffering of victim. Media people glamorize thing for their own benefit with out any care about victims. great effort. Thanks for sharing @elizahfhaye
