We reaches out to the greater masses of disadvantaged, neglected and poor children around the world, particularly destitute children in the Philippines, by implementing programs and services that help them achieve their aspirations and become productive, responsible, and accountable individuals in their communities and in the nation as a whole.
We've been working in the Philippines for over three decades and is dedicated to helping children.
We protect and support children in need. We save lives in emergencies. We speak up for children’s rights. As part of the Save the Children International network, we share a global vision and strategy for creating better lives for children in the Philippines and across the world.
Our work
With the generosity of our supporters in the Philippines and throughout the world, we work hard to help children gain access to quality education and health services, support them in times of great need, and protect them from harm.
With more than 95 years of experience in working with children, we are at the forefront of saving children’s lives when disasters like Typhoon Yolanda strike and we create lasting change for children and their families through our long-term development programs.
We launched a massive feeding and relief operations for the Mt. Mayon evacuees, together with volunteers.
Many evacuees were surprised when the. volunteers arrived in the identified schools which were used as evacuation centers. Delighted by the hot meals and food packs that the volunteers brought with them, most of the evacuees hurriedly lined up and patiently waited for their turn to receive the relief assistance.
Save the Children runs programs in the 3 main regions of the Philippines – Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao – and we also work in over 120 countries around the world.
Every year in the Philippines, we support hundreds of thousands of the hardest to reach and most vulnerable children and young people.
In 2013, with so many families affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), we managed to reach over 5.1 million children and their families – directly changing the lives of almost 810,000 people. Our efforts also contribute to Save the Children International’s work for children worldwide, which in 2015 reached more than a million children.
