RE: Turning a New Leaf: Charity Work in South Africa and Artistic Prodigies

in #charitylast year

Thanks to Zac for cross posting this in Silver Bloggers!
I have known @papilloncharity since I first came across Zac in tsu many moons ago.

This is just fantastic, when you support a charity you love to see what it does.

The artwork by the kids blew me away.

So vivid and colourful and yeah if it was by some trendy artist it would sell at an auction for silly money.

A brilliant post, brilliant charity but above all brilliant kids!!!

Thank you so much! It was really eye opening to see what the children could do under the right "conditions", i.e., a space and place where they could live out their creativity and not be "dampened" by some outdated form of education.

And the scary thing is that these paintings could have been sold on auction! But apparently, South African law states that children (younger than 18) may not get the money, or something in that line. I talked to one of the people who work there. Strange times we live in.

In any case, thank you so much again!

Hoe effed up is that, the kids would not get the money.
Strange times indeed but all par for the course unfortunately.

That is seriously screwed up. Sorry for the long wait for the reply. What a couple of weeks!! I hope all is well.
