WHAT IS CHEMICAL PROCESS TECHNOLOGY
In Brief, Chemical process technology deals with the transformation of raw materials into useful and profitable products with the economic, design and operation of such chemical plants in consideration. A country's wealth i.e the growth of any country is measured by the Gross Domestic Products(G.D.P) which indirectly is an expression of the goods and services the country produces.
In the light if this, a country won't witness any significant economic growth if there are no industries and the required human capital to run such an industry, that is why, upcoming and existing engineers(chemical) should have a good comprehension of the scientific, fundamental and typical features of chemical technological process to be able to control integrated production processes.
Therefore, the chemical industries is largely dependent on the sufficient knowledge chemical engineers have about the technology and operating conditions of various chemical process plants, so as to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the chemical industries.
HOW CAN A GOOD CHEMICAL PROCESS BE DEVELOPED
The steps include;
1.) Developing the kinetics of the chemical reaction which brings about the desired product formation. Much experiments should be devoted to this cause as the data generated from it is essential to plants design.
2.) Proper material and energy balances of the process should be carried out as it would determine the material use and distribution and the cost as well. Also, energy balance is important since chemical industries use energy, so energy auditing will reveal how energy is expended by each process equipment.
3.) Ability to determine the type of process under development (i.e batch or continuous process).
4.) Ability to develop a comprehensive flowchart of the process in the industry.
5.) Proper pilot plant design of the process should be made.
CONCLUSION:
In having a standard Chemical Process Industry as the back bone of the country's economy, other sectors like education, security, etc thrives, and the result of it all would be a country that is boastful of its financial strength, independency and progress as well.
