Apple is the fruit most people identify with strudel, but sour cherry has always been my favorite.
I knew the German style wouldn't do (pastry too hard) and the Viennese was close, but this is the real thing and how I can tell is that the other recipes didn't have nearly enough butter lol. This is the real deal!
