Yeah I think without studying a bit a person will just hit a wall, especially in the short time games. The longer ones I think you can figure some things out or I like to play the Lichess stockfish bot, even in games where I know I made a certain mistake, then I continue from before then against the bot since I am still bit lazy to try memorize all the things but even if I do it will take time to recall them easily. Goodluck, maybe you win the next tournament. !PIZZA !LOLZ
