I asked myself; where did we get it all wrong. This question keeps juggling through my mind whenever I step out and see little children who are meant to be in classrooms learning but are out there hawking and doing petty jobs. Now I asked again; Who is to be blamed, is it their parents, the government or the elites in the society.

Child labour is the use of children for labour. This subject matter has adversely affected the future and overall mental states of a lot of promising children. This is why we must put our resources together to end child labour. Child upbringing is a collective effort of the society. A well trained child is more of an asset than a liability to the society.

However, I will like to send this advice to these category of people.

THE PARENTS

Parents should know that it is their primary duty to take care of their children and also to give them quality education. They should also take into consideration their financial status when making children. This will go far to reduce the level of poverty and illiteracy in our society. Parents should desist from using their children for labour when they are not due.

THE GOVERNMENT

The government should abolish the use of underage children for labour. The government should enact punishment for offenders of this law. The government should also provide free educational services for it's citizens. There should be creation of job opportunities in other to reduce the level of poverty. Social amenities should be made available by the government.

Finally, the society should know that the future of our nations lies on the shoulder of our children. If we fail to train our children but subjecting them to child labour, the rate of crimes will increase and we would end up mortgaging the future of our society. Let us work together to end child labour.
