It is extremely frustrating in Shanghai to use google, facebook and twitter. Even with VPN, it is very slowwww..... This is actually the top complaint of many expats and their wives living in China.. btw

Yes.. Shanghai seems more like a transitional city for most expats. I have been in Shanghai for a year now. Many times, i joined gatherings here and there, made a few new friends and poof she announced that she s leaving the next month. And then the cycle repeats.
