CHINA MEGA CITY2896.jpg
China is building the world's biggest mega city they are merging nine cities to build a metropolis three times the size of newyork with a population of 42 million.

Communist in south China have laid out an ambitious plan to merge together close to nine cities that lie around the Pearl River Delta.5776b401dd0895a9208b4681-640-480.jpg
The megacity would be an area for innovative development, this should prioritise ecological protection improve citizens well-being

So over the next six years, close to 150 huge infrastructure projects will merge the water, telecommunications network, transport, energy of the nine cities together, at a cost of some 2 trillion yuan thats approximately £190 billion. An express rail line will also connect the hub with nearby Hong Kong.

"The idea is that when the cities are integrated, the residents can travel around freely and use the health care and other facilities in the different areas

However, no name had been chosen for the area for now, as it will not be like mega london or maga tokyo as thr is no standard in the world to how metropolis the city will be. Also the Communist don't want to name it after one of the existing cities."

Residents would be able to use universal rail cards they would be able to buy annual tickets to allow them to commute around the mega-city.

China plans to move greater numbers of people into this cities, by creating some city zones with 50 million to 100 million people and even small city clusters of 10 million to 25 million.

Sort:

Jeez! I counted about 47 lanes on that road....That's quite massive.

Too bad they are not strategically placed geographically, if not, China would have been a continent of its own, at the rate they are growing and expanding.

You so right

The Chinese have proven to be a supper power.

Super power not going to happen!!

Even though China has been in the spotlight for years, first as the “factory of the world” and then as “bridge builder of the world” but then their capacity for economic reform is in question, and its financial sector remains far less developed than that of the Western world in my opinion
